Job Summary:
In this role, you will act as an advisor to large projects or business lines on a range of live legal issues. You will make legal recommendations and determinations, advise on legal aspects and implications, manage investigations and disputes, negotiate agreements, and plan legal strategy. Your expertise, collaboration, and high ethical standards will ensure business and compliance issues are addressed and team goals are met.

This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office. Regular international business travel to other offices and project sites should be expected. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional leadership.
Major Responsibilities:
- Acts as an advisor to one or more business lines, large projects and/or functions on a range of legal issues with the main focus being on the efficient resolution of disputes, both up and downstream.
- Acts as an advisor to a one or more business lines, large projects and/or functions on a range of legal issues. Makes legal determinations on matters of substantial importance to the business.
- Instructs and manages external counsel and other expert consultant advisers in the context of disputes and litigation.
- Manages legal budgets efficiently.
- Makes legal determinations and advises on matters of substantial importance to the business.
- Advises on the legal aspects and implications of regulations or laws affecting the organization, prospects, and projects.
- Develops recommendations for decisions having an important bearing on the organization's business, including in respect of the efficient management of disputes (both upstream and downstream), and assisting in the development of internal policy approval requests.
- Deals with company officers and management and confers or negotiates regularly with senior attorneys and officials in other companies or in government agencies on various aspects of the work.
- Assists and advises senior company officers (and other functions) in respect of potential and actual disputes arising on projects.
- Negotiates complex settlement agreements and contract amendments.
- Manages claims, disputes, litigation/arbitration and investigations.
- Conducts training in respect of sound change management, claims and commercial management.
- Often first chair in a negotiation in respect of disputes.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a Juris Doctor (or international equivalent) and ideally 15+ years of relevant experience
