The Team
An opportunity exists for a Senior Counsel based in London responsible for all Employment matters, including senior employee contract negotiations, executive compensation, restrictive covenant and team move disputes and oversight of general commercial litigation across the EMEA region. As the business continues to grow, this is viewed as a critical and unique role in a fast-paced environment. This is a challenging and exciting opportunity to succeed and make an immediate impact with leadership of the firm in a varied employment and litigation focused role with responsibilities across multiple jurisdictions.
How you will contribute
- Act as a point of contact in the legal team for legal issues and disputes arising from partner hire and team moves.
- Act as a business partner to the sponsoring Business Units, EMEA MD Partnership Office and EMEA People Organisation by advising on senior employee matters.
- Work closely on senior employee contract and executive compensation matters.
- Provide practical training for risk avoidance and best practices.
- Manage disputes and litigation across EMEA working in conjunction with the rest of the General Counsel’s Office and external counsel (as applicable).
- Manage litigation and document requests.
- Manage the relationship with external legal advisers.
- Report and escalate key matters to the leadership of the firm’s General Counsel Office.

Qualifications
- 7 plus years, post qualification experience, ideally combining time spent working within corporate, in-house, teams on Employment related matters and within leading private practice law firms.
- Refined employment and executive contract drafting skills to support complex compensation arrangements.
- Experience of handling restrictive covenant and team move disputes and general civil or employment litigation.
- This role will require a multi-cultural perspective - fluency in spoken and written business English is essential. The ability to practice in other relevant languages would be a material bonus.
- An understanding of the complex legal challenges inherent to professional services firms is desirable.
- Experience of working across multiple jurisdictions is desirable.

- Strong organizational and project management skills.
