Senior Cover Receptionist
Location: London
Compensation: £15.50 / hour
Description
£15.50 per hour | £16,116 per annum | Paid annual leave

Contract: Part-time | Six-month fixed term
Schedule: Three agreed weekdays | Average of 20 paid hours per week, managed monthly
Role one – Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday
Role two – Monday, Wednesday, Friday
Guaranteed basic salary: £1,343 gross per full month, with authorised overtime hours paid separately under the contract.
The Role
We are looking for a warm, professional and adaptable Senior Cover Receptionist to deliver an excellent front-of-house experience across commercial office buildings within your agreed area. This role allows you to enjoy the variety of mobile reception work, with the reassurance of guaranteed monthly income.
You will be a trusted member of LAH’s Cover Department, stepping into different buildings to cover planned absences and urgent reception requirements. Wherever you are working, you will help ensure tenants, visitors and contractors receive a welcoming, organised and professional service.
This role combines guaranteed monthly income with variety and responsibility. It suits someone who enjoys meeting people, takes ownership and can bring calm, confidence and personality to different front-of-house environments.
You will work independently on site, with support from LAH’s Cover Department and the relevant Building Management team.
Key Responsibilities
Service Delivery
- Providing a warm and professional welcome for tenants, visitors and contractors
- Managing reception activity, including visitors, deliveries and couriers
- Learning each building’s procedures and maintaining a polished, organised reception
- Carrying out agreed routine visual checks and reporting issues through the correct process

Communication
- Communicating professionally with tenants, visitors, colleagues and service partners
- Keeping the Cover Department informed about assignments and any issues affecting service
- Providing clear handovers and supporting building communications where required

- Representing LAH positively and delivering consistent standards across different buildings

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Who This Role Suits
You will enjoy variety, working independently and interacting with people throughout the day. You should be comfortable travelling within your agreed operating area and responding calmly when plans change.
We welcome relevant experience from reception, hospitality, hotels, corporate services or similar customer-facing environments. Commercial building experience is helpful, alongside:
- Professional communication and a welcoming manner
- A proactive, organised approach
- Confidence using email and Microsoft applications
- The ability to follow site instructions and work without close supervision

Your Hours and Working Arrangements
You will agree three regular weekdays with us. Your contract provides 86 hours 40 minutes of basic paid hours per monthly hours period, equivalent to a weekly average of 20 hours.
Shift lengths and weekly hours may vary within that month. Your basic monthly salary remains payable if LAH allocates less work. Authorised hours above your monthly allocation are paid additionally at £15.50 per hour. Agreed work outside your three contractual days is also paid separately, unless it is an agreed day swap.
The role includes early-morning availability for urgent reception cover. On your agreed days, when you are not already working, you must be contactable during the morning response window and reasonably able to get ready and travel to an assignment within your operating area.

Location
