Join a Major Local Government Transformation Programme

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior CPMO Assurance Officer to support one of the largest transformation and change portfolios within local government.

Working within a Corporate PMO environment, you will play a key role in providing independent assurance, programme governance, risk oversight and performance reporting across a complex portfolio of strategic programmes and projects. The role will support senior leaders in ensuring delivery remains on track whilst identifying risks, challenging programme performance and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Your new role

This position sits at the heart of programme delivery and assurance, providing challenge and support to programme teams whilst maintaining robust governance standards across the portfolio. You will work closely with Programme Managers, SRO's and senior stakeholders to ensure projects are effectively monitored, risks are proactively managed and decision-makers have access to accurate and meaningful information.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing independent assurance across complex programmes and transformation initiatives.
  • Reviewing programme performance and identifying risks, issues and delivery concerns before they materialise.
  • Maintaining programme dashboards, risk registers, RAID logs and governance documentation.
  • Producing high-quality reports and insights for senior leadership teams.
  • Challenging programme delivery where necessary to ensure accurate reporting and transparency.
  • Conducting deep-dive reviews and assurance activities across projects and workstreams.
  • Tracking dependencies and supporting mitigation planning across multiple programmes.
  • Developing PMO standards, templates, reporting frameworks and best practice approaches.
  • Supporting financial assurance activities, programme controls and audit requirements.
  • Using data analysis and reporting tools to identify trends, opportunities and areas requiring intervention.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
