Senior Creative Designer - SFX & Pyro

Do you have experience in live event project management and touring environments? Are you looking to work in a growing, international, fast paced, exciting and global business working with some of the world’s best known live acts and entertainers? Would you like to work for the world’s largest, most exciting and innovative supplier of laser, special effects equipment and crew?

ER Productions delivers SFX, pyro, and laser systems for major world tours and large live events across the globe. Our work spans stadiums, arenas, and festivals, supporting some of the most recognised artists and productions worldwide. We operate internationally, with offices across the US, UK, Europe, Australia, and the Middle East, and regularly manage complex, multi territory touring projects.

You will champion the creative vision of ER’s Special Effects and Pyro across world tours, major live events, and installations - ensuring that artistry, technology, and safety come together to deliver incredible and boundary pushing experiences. You will work closely with the Creative Director and the Global Head of Project Management, while taking ownership of creative standards across SFX and Pyro, mentoring talent, shaping future capabilities, and driving the next generation of show design.

Skills and Experience

You will be working in a fast-paced international business across multiple time zones, therefore we are looking for the following Skills and Experience:

  • Deep understanding of Special Effects and Pyro in live event environments, with the ability to translate creative ideas into safe, executable show designs
  • Ideally experience with Depence, Vectorworks, Finale3D or similar software
  • Proven experience delivering high-end touring or large-scale live productions
  • Strong creative vision combined with technical practicality and attention to detail
  • Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams including creative, technical, and project management departments
  • Experience mentoring or leading technicians or creatives
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in high-pressure, live environments
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, solutions-focused mindset
  • Willingness to work flexibly around live production schedules
  • A full driving licence

Responsibilities

As a Senior Creative Designer SFX & Pyro your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the creative direction of Special Effects and Pyro across tours, live events, and installations
  • Developing and delivering world-class creative concepts from idea through execution
  • Working closely with project managers, technical teams and clients to bring innovative designs to life
  • Providing creative leadership onsite during planning periods and rehearsals
  • Mentoring technicians and supporting the development of the next generation
  • Collaborating with Health & Safety and technical teams to ensure creative ambition is delivered safely
  • Driving innovation through research, experimentation, and continuous creative development
