About MATTA

Here at MATTA, we believe that sports have the power to change people and communities for the better. We are passionate about making brands and campaigns matter to more people, more often by engaging fans with big, bold creative thinking and world-class execution.

We are an independent creative agency built specifically for sports and lifestyle brands. Our work has won multiple awards (from Clios to Sports Industry Campaigns of the Year), we have been Agency of the Year several times over, and we are one of the most exciting sports businesses in the country.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking a Senior Creative, specialising in copy and ideation, to join the team.

Role Overview

You’ll likely be a midweight or senior creative within an agency, with several years’ experience and a portfolio that demonstrates brilliant conceptual thinking, strong copy craft, and genuine social fluency.

You’ll be able to generate everything from big campaign platforms, taglines, and scripts to social-first ideas, short-form content, and culturally reactive work. You’ll understand how ideas behave differently across channels, rather than simply adapting the same campaign for each one.

We’re looking for an ideas machine: someone capable of generating high-quality creative thinking at pace, without compromising on craft.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Ideation: Be an ideas factory, generating strong, original creative thinking across briefs, audiences, and channels.
  • Creative Excellence: Turn insight into compelling creative concepts, and concepts into standout work.
  • Copywriting, Scriptwriting & Storytelling: Create taglines, scripts, headlines, narratives, and campaign copy that cut through.
  • Social-First Creativity: Create ideas that are native to social and digital platforms, understanding how audiences consume, share, and participate in content, from short-form and reactive work to creator-led ideas and larger social campaigns.
  • Integrated Thinking: Develop big creative ideas that can travel intelligently across channels, knowing when an idea should start in social, when it needs a broader campaign platform, and how different touchpoints can work together.
  • Cultural & Social Relevance: Develop campaign platforms and content ideas that understand culture, conversation, and communities, and give people a reason to engage, share, or participate.
  • End-to-End Ownership: Take ownership of briefs from initial thought through to execution.
  • Creative Storytelling: Build clear, persuasive presentations that take clients from insight and opportunity through to creative idea and execution.
  • Client Confidence: Articulate, sell, and defend your creative thinking confidently with clients and internally.
  • Visual Direction: Help shape the creative vision, including art direction, moodboards, and storyboards for film, content, and campaigns.
  • Collaboration: Work seamlessly with art directors, designers, strategists, and the wider team to bring ideas to life.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Essential Experience

  • Outstanding Portfolio: A portfolio that shows strong conceptual thinking, excellent copy craft, and an ability to create ideas across multiple formats and channels.
  • Social & Digital Native: A deep understanding of social platforms, formats, behaviors, and communities, with a portfolio demonstrating ideas conceived specifically for digital and social environments, not simply adapted for them.
  • Integrated Campaign Experience: Proven ability to develop ideas across social, digital, content, earned, and broader campaign channels, understanding how each plays a different role within an integrated creative idea.
  • Platform & Cultural Fluency: Natural curiosity about emerging platforms, creators, formats, trends, and online behaviors, with the judgement to distinguish genuine creative opportunities from simply chasing what is trending.
  • Strong Presentation Skills: Proven ability to sell creative work with clarity, conviction, and confidence.
  • Sector Awareness: Strong awareness of sport, culture, and entertainment, and an instinct for turning that knowledge into ideas.
  • Leadership & Collaboration: A collaborative mindset, with the ability to lead, challenge, and inspire others.
  • Creative Integrity: High standards, strong opinions, and the judgement to know when to push.
  • Strong Visual Instincts: Although this is a copy-led role, you will have a good visual eye and be comfortable helping shape the look, feel, and creative direction of your ideas.

Desirable Experience (but not essential)

  • Sport Sector Experience: Hands-on experience working within the sports sector or with sports, fitness, or lifestyle brands.

What We Offer

  • 23 days annual leave, increasing by one day per year up to a maximum of 30 days, plus an extra 3 days off at Christmas.

  • Discounts: Exclusive access to benefits platforms offering hundreds of discounts across shopping, food, beauty, travel, and more.
  • Dog-Friendly Office
