Leicestershire | Studio-based with 1 day remote

This isn't simply another senior retail design role.

It's an opportunity to become a key creative voice within an established, growing studio, shaping how major global brands show up in physical retail environments.

Working across technology, lifestyle, FMCG and other consumer sectors, the studio delivers end-to-end retail experiences, from the first idea and brand narrative through to visualisation, development and global rollout.

The important bit? They're looking for someone who can think as well as execute.

This is a hands-on senior creative role for someone who understands that great retail design starts long before the 3D visualisation. You'll interrogate the brief, understand the brand and its audience, develop the story and create an experience that connects with the shopper. Crucially, you'll then have the technical capability to bring that thinking to life yourself. You'll also work alongside the existing senior creative leadership, providing additional creative bandwidth across a busy portfolio of global clients while helping to develop the wider studio team.

Get to:

  • Lead concept and ideation across retail environments, POS and brand activations
  • Interpret brands, audiences and briefs to create compelling creative narratives
  • Take ideas from initial thinking and sketching into convincing, buildable 3D solutions
  • Present and defend your thinking directly to clients
  • Influence creative direction across major accounts
  • Mentor and elevate junior and midweight designers
  • Collaborate closely with project, account and technical teams
  • Remain hands-on with the work while becoming a trusted senior voice within the studio

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Of course your portfolio needs to demonstrate more than beautiful finished visuals, we will need to understand why you created something. What was the brief? Who was the audience? What did the brand need to communicate? What was your idea? How did you challenge the brief? How did that thinking translate into the final physical experience?

You'll ideally bring:

  • Strong experience within retail, POS, shopper, spatial or closely related brand environments
  • A genuine conceptual and creative backbone
  • Strong understanding of brands, consumers and storytelling within physical space
  • High-level 3D capability using 3ds Max or comparable software, with the ability to bring your own concepts to life
  • Good graphic design understanding and appreciation of how graphics and 3D work together
  • Understanding of materials, manufacturing and feasibility – these aren't simply pictures; the work gets built
  • Confidence presenting creative thinking directly to clients
  • The credibility and generosity to mentor less experienced designers
  • Curiosity around emerging tools, including AI, and how they can improve the creative process

And Why Will This Role Work For You?

The opportunity exists because the studio is busy and growing. There is already strong creative leadership within the business, but increasing client demand means they need another experienced person capable of taking genuine ownership.

This isn't about filling a seat.

It's about becoming another trusted senior creative voice within the studio, someone who can originate ideas, deliver them and help other designers become better in the process. You'll have exposure to major global brands, considerable creative ownership and the opportunity to influence both the work and the development of the team around you.

The environment is deliberately a studio-first culture. Creative collaboration happens constantly, looking at work together, exchanging ideas, solving problems and contributing across different projects and clients. For that reason, the role is predominantly studio-based in Leicestershire, with typically one day per week working remotely.

For someone who has missed being surrounded by other creatives, it's a genuinely collaborative environment.
