An established and high-performing organisation within the Lloyd’s insurance market is looking to appoint an experienced Senior Credit Controller to take responsibility for a significant Delegated Authority portfolio.

Working closely with internal underwriting teams, Lloyd’s Brokers and Coverholders, you will play a key role in ensuring the timely and accurate settlement of premiums, identifying outstanding balances and driving effective resolution of problem accounts.

  • Take ownership of a sizeable Delegated Authority portfolio, using reporting and analytics to monitor account performance, identify discrepancies and address emerging issues.
  • Manage the end-to-end premium settlement process across key accounts, including premium signings, bordereaux and reconciliation of written versus settled premiums.
  • Build strong relationships with Lloyd’s Brokers and Coverholders, proactively managing outstanding balances, resolving queries and driving timely payment in line with agreed terms.
  • Work closely with Underwriting and internal stakeholders to manage challenging accounts, investigate documentation and data issues, and agree appropriate actions to minimise credit risk.
  • Support the continued development of the Credit Control function through improved reporting, data analytics and the introduction of technology-led solutions.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
