Senior Credit Controller - Shipping

London (Hybrid)
£55,000 to £65,000

Inico Recruit is working with an internationally recognised London firm serving the shipping industry to appoint a Senior Credit Controller.

This is a senior, hands-on credit control position with real ownership. You'll manage a portfolio of international clients, working closely with fee earners and the finance team to keep cash flowing and protect client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the sales ledger and drive collection of overdue balances by phone and email
  • Manage a portfolio of key international accounts, including SPV owning entities, P&I Clubs and insurers
  • Carry out cash allocation and account reconciliations
  • Produce aged debt reports, cash forecasts and billing updates for senior management
  • Recommend bad debt provisions and write-offs where appropriate

About You

  • Experience in shipping, or a strong working understanding of the sector (for example ship management, shipbroking, marine insurance, P&I, or a firm serving shipping clients)
  • Confident dealing with international debtors and multi-currency accounts
  • Strong communication skills, with the confidence to speak directly with clients and internal stakeholders
