Summary
We are an innovative and market-leading software & services company based in Chorley serving clients in the utility sector ranging from new entrants to large existing suppliers. We deliver sophisticated software solutions and managed services in a Private Cloud infrastructure, servicing both traditional and modern real-time, smart energy clients.
We operate a Hybrid working policy so you will be able to flex between working in the office and your home location to carry out this role, however during your initial training period the need to be in the office with other team members will be essential. Our UK office is based in Chorley, which is where you will be based.

Position Responsibilities
As Senior Credit Controller, you will take ownership of a high-volume, fast-moving ledger and lead the recovery of aged debt, with a particular focus on resolving aged items. You'll investigate the underlying causes of delayed payments, work cross-functionally to resolve disputes, and ensure accurate, timely cash collection while driving continuous improvements across the order-to-cash process.

- Managing a high-volume ledger (c. 1,200 invoices/month) across multiple time zones and subsidiaries, ensuring accurate maintenance and timely collections.
- Leading targeted recovery activity for all 90+ day aged debt.
- Investigating and resolving the root causes of aged debt, including billing disputes, missing POs, contract issues, portal errors, and customer compliance requirements.
- Liaising with Billing, Sales, and Legal teams to expedite complex disputes.
- Communicating with customers using a professional negotiation style to secure payment commitments and clear blockers.
- Managing invoice submissions and issue resolution through customer procurement portals such as Coupa, Ariba and others.
- Providing weekly and monthly reporting, including aged-debt analysis, DSO performance, and recovery forecasts.
- Identifying recurring issues and recommending process improvements to strengthen cashflow and reduce future disputes.
- Maintaining accurate account notes, audit trails, and documentation to support escalation and compliance.

About You

You Must Have
- Proven track record of reducing DSO in B2B SaaS/software.
- Experience managing high-volume ledgers.
- Experience managing different countries, currencies and time zones.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Desirable
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle).
- O2C process improvement experience.
