Senior Credit Controller

Location: Chelmsford, UK

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Contract: Full-time

Overview

Our client, an international insurance business, is looking for a Senior Credit Controller to manage broker accounts across its UK and European operations.

You will take ownership of debt collection, premium reconciliation and cash allocation, helping to minimise bad debt and maximise cash flow. The role also involves developing strong broker relationships, resolving operational issues and supporting the management team in meeting daily and monthly targets.

Responsibilities

  • Take full ownership of allocated broker accounts, ensuring debt is collected by agreed due dates and overdue balances are actively pursued.
  • Review and resolve escalated unidentified cash and collection issues at the earliest opportunity.
  • Reconcile broker statements and ensure unreconciled premiums are investigated and cleared.
  • Allocate cash received and paid accurately and within required timescales.
  • Identify brokers generating high volumes of queries and work with relevant teams to address underlying causes.
  • Analyse process data, highlight areas of concern and propose practical solutions.
  • Resolve queries raised by internal and external stakeholders within required timescales.
  • Maintain process documentation and user guides, undertake transactional activity when required for business continuity, and ensure accurate, timely data capture for management information.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
