Senior Credit Controller | Redhill, Surrey (Hybrid) | £35,000 + up to £4,200 bonus + benefits
I'm working with a well established B2B business in Redhill to find a Senior Credit Controller for their finance operations team. It's a permanent role with real ownership, a bonus that pays out, and a team that wants someone who'll take their ledger and make it better.
The role
You'll own a ledger of around 1,000 accounts and look after all of the key accounts. The work is built on relationships. The business works through a dealer network, so you'll be managing a three way relationship between the business, the dealer and the end customer. Good communication matters more here than in most credit control roles.
Day to day, you'll be:
- Managing a ledger of circa 1,000 accounts plus the key account portfolio
- Handling monthly and consolidated invoicing for key accounts
- Making outbound calls (around 30 a day), with preemptive calls in the last week of the month to land cash before month end
- Working with the Customer Service Manager to resolve balances and disputes on no credit (card payment) accounts
- Helping the team hit its monthly cash collection and 90+ day targets
- Training new team members and supporting colleagues when things get busy
- Covering for the Credit Manager when needed

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll report into the Credit Manager and sit within a credit control team of five, part of a wider finance operations function of eleven. This isn't a people management role, but you'll be a senior voice in the team and someone others look to.
What they're looking for
- At least 5 years in credit control
- High volume experience, ideally with B2B customers
- A proven track record of hitting collection targets
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
- A calm, confident manner on the phone, even when chasing difficult debts
- Great attention to detail and the ability to prioritise a busy day
- Personality counts as much as the CV. They want someone bubbly and proactive, who enjoys learning, thinks beyond the process and gets stuck in when the team needs it. Above all, they want someone reliable. Credit control rewards consistency, and this team values people who show up and deliver month after month.
The package
- £35,000 basic salary
- Monthly bonus of up to £350 (£4,200 a year), split between cash collection and 90+ day targets. The bonus has paid out every month for the past five years and pays in full for most of the year.
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, going up by a day each year from your second anniversary to a maximum of 30
- Your birthday off every year
- Option to buy or sell up to 5 days holiday each year
- Vitality private medical insurance once you pass probation, including rewards and discounts with major retailers
- Simplyhealth cash plan after your first month
- Pension with 4% employer contribution, matched to your 4%, through salary sacrifice
- Employee Assistance Programme for you and your family
- Electric vehicle scheme through Octopus Electric Vehicles and Cycle to Work, both through salary sacrifice
- Regular social events

Location and working pattern
The office is in Redhill, Surrey. You'll be in the office Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and work from home Monday and Friday. Please think about the commute before you apply. You'll need to be able to drive to the office or get the train to Salfords station, which is a five minute walk away. Trains heading north into Salfords are more reliable than those coming down from London, so this role best suits someone living locally or to the south.
Start date
As soon as possible, but they're happy to wait for the right person to work their notice. Getting the right fit matters more than getting someone in quickly.
