About the Firm
Inico Recruit is partnering with an internationally recognised, specialist shipping law firm to find a Senior Credit Controller for their London office. Our client is a well-regarded name in the sector, with an international client base spanning shipowners, P&I clubs, banks, and other commercial shipping stakeholders.
About the Role
This is a senior, hands-on credit control position with real ownership. You'll take responsibility for a portfolio of international clients, working closely with fee earners and finance to keep cash flowing and protect client relationships. You'll also act as a point of escalation and mentor to more junior members of the team.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the sales ledger and drive collection of overdue balances by phone and email
- Manage a portfolio of key client accounts, building strong relationships with both clients and fee earners
- Resolve billing queries and disputes quickly and professionally, escalating where necessary
- Carry out cash allocation and account reconciliations
- Produce aged debt reports, cash forecasts, and WIP/billing updates for senior management
- Recommend bad debt provisions and write-offs where appropriate

What We're Looking For
- Experience within professional services (law firm experience is an advantage)
- Proven experience as a credit controller, ideally at a senior level
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to liaise directly with fee earners and clients
- Comfortable managing a full credit control cycle, from collections through to reporting
- A proactive, process-driven approach, with the ability to mentor and support junior team members
