The Role
Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Credit Controller is a key role within the Ventro Group finance team, responsible for driving effective debt recovery and cash collection across the business. You'll take ownership of the aged debt ledger, manage and support a small team of credit control assistants, and build strong working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders. This is a well-capitalised, high-growth business, and the role offers excellent scope for progression as the finance function scales with it. Day to day, you will:

- Drive timely debt recovery, monitoring aged debt and reporting on outstanding accounts to senior management
- Manage and support a team of credit control assistants
- Assist with payment allocations and bank reconciliations
- Upload invoices to client portals and maintain accurate reporting
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, resolving queries by liaising with finance and operational teams
What We’re Looking For

Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using accounting software (we use NetSuite)
- Excellent communication skills, both on the telephone and in writing
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in reporting and reconciliations
- Good relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach
- Experience managing or supervising a team is desirable
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of credit control processes, aged debt reporting and cash collection best practice
- AAT qualified or equivalent finance qualification is advantageous but not essential
- Experience within a construction or fire safety finance function is desirable
Experience
- Previous credit control experience is essential
- Experience within a construction or fire safety finance function is desirable
- Experience managing or mentoring junior credit control staff is desirable
Behaviours

- Professionalism and accuracy in all client and internal communications
- A collaborative approach when liaising across finance and operational teams
