About the opportunity
Via is supporting an established international business to recruit an experienced Senior Credit Controller.
This is a senior, hands-on credit control position managing a high-volume international ledger, with a particular focus on customers across South America and wider international markets.
You'll take ownership of a large number of customer accounts, ensuring outstanding balances are collected efficiently, credit exposure is controlled and queries are resolved quickly.
The role is predominantly email-based rather than phone-heavy, so it would suit an experienced Credit Controller who is comfortable managing significant volumes of international customer correspondence while maintaining accurate records and staying on top of competing priorities.
What you'll be doing
- Take ownership of a high-volume international accounts receivable ledger
- Manage credit control activity across South America and other international markets
- Chase outstanding payments predominantly through email communication
- Manage a large volume of customer accounts and outstanding invoices simultaneously
- Prioritise overdue balances and ensure collection activity remains consistent
- Build professional relationships with international customers
- Investigate and resolve payment, invoice and account queries
- Establish and review customer credit limits
- Assess customer creditworthiness and make informed credit decisions
- Monitor credit exposure and identify potential risks
- Conduct regular account and credit reviews
- Escalate significantly overdue or higher-risk accounts when required
- Instruct and liaise with external debt collection agencies where appropriate
- Maintain accurate records of collection activity and customer correspondence
- Work closely with Sales, Customer Service and Finance teams to resolve account issues
- Help improve credit control processes and reduce overdue debt

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
