An exciting opportunity to join a leading international banking organisation in London!

We are looking for a Senior Credit Officer to play a key role in reviewing loan documentation, assessing security and legal risks, and supporting the bank through transaction execution, distressed lending and recovery situations.

Job title: Senior Credit Officer
Job type: Permanent, Full-Time
Location: London
Working Pattern: Hybrid (4 days in the office, 1-day WFH)

Key Responsibilities

  • Review syndicated and bilateral loan documentation, including LMA/LSTA agreements, guarantees and security documents.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with internal credit policies and approved terms.
  • Assess security enforceability, perfection and collateral risks.
  • Review Conditions Precedent before drawdown.
  • Identify contractual, structural and legal risks within lending transactions.
  • Work closely with Credit Risk, Front Office and external legal counsel.
  • Support distressed, underperforming and defaulted loans, including workout and recovery strategies.
  • Maintain accurate credit files and documentation.

  • Law degree (LLB or equivalent) is essential.
  • 5–7 years' relevant experience in loan documentation, credit administration, banking or a banking/finance legal environment.
  • Strong knowledge of LMA/LSTA documentation and syndicated lending.
  • Good understanding of UK corporate law and security perfection.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical and commercial judgement.
  • Experience working with legal counsel and senior banking stakeholders.
