Job Description

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst you will be responsible for supporting the oversight of first line credit risk management and the reporting and development of product standards. You will analyse portfolio risks and concentrations and build portfolio and arrears forecasting; escalating material risks to committees as required. You will also support the Senior Manager Credit Risk in the development of cost of risk and use of credit scoring strategies for our product portfolios. In liaison with key stakeholders you will identify key pockets of credit risk and ensure that these are being appropriately managed.

As a Senior Credit Risk Analyst we are looking for someone to:

  • Have oversight of first line credit risk management activity
  • Analyse portfolio credit risks, providing timely and accurate updates to risk committees.
  • Pro-actively identify trends and insights based on regular credit risk reporting, supporting the Senior Credit Risk Manager with the actions required to address areas of concern/opportunity, working with the first line credit risk team
  • Support the Senior Credit Risk Manager with the input and running of 2nd line oversight committees and regular routines
  • Perform analysis to support changes to credit risk strategies, lending and arrears management policies
  • Support development and monitoring of new products and strategies
  • Analyse portfolio risks and concentrations and build portfolio and arrears forecasting; escalating material risks to committees as required.
  • Support the Senior Manager Credit Risk in the development of cost of risk and use of credit scoring strategies
  • Liase with key stakeholders, identify key pockets of credit risk and ensure that these are being appropriately managed.
  • Support the development of affordability, valuation and credit strategies
  • Maintain comprehensive governance, procedures and records
  • Build and maintain a strong stakeholder network to share credit risk expertise and insight across the organisation

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Numerical degree, strong analytical skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Experience in a credit risk environment
  • A solid grounding in data analysis using quantitative analytic tools.
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Strong understanding of the fundamental concepts of credit risk management
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good understanding of risk management of secured lending portfolios.
  • Experience of using complex data
