Senior Credit Risk Manager

London, hybrid | Salary up to £110,000

This is an opportunity to step away from traditional credit risk responsibilities and take ownership of high-impact lending initiatives. You'll play a key role in shaping new products, customer strategies, and lending capabilities within a fast-paced FinTech environment.

The Role

As a Senior Credit Risk Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, developing, and delivering strategic initiatives that enhance lending performance and create new opportunities for growth.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing new lending propositions, customer segments, and distribution channels
  • Building and implementing innovative credit strategies and capabilities
  • Identifying opportunities to increase customer value through cross-sell and re-lending initiatives
  • Owning projects from concept through to implementation and operational handover
  • Assessing commercial viability through analysis, modelling, and performance tracking
  • Collaborating with Product, Commercial, Finance, Operations, and Risk teams to deliver business outcomes
  • Influencing stakeholders and driving initiatives without direct management responsibility
  • Taking accountability for measurable business impact and long-term success

Your Skills & Experience

  • Strong credit risk experience within a FinTech, consumer lending, or related lending environment
  • Advanced SQL skills and the ability to work independently with data
  • Python experience is desirable
  • Strong understanding of credit strategy, pricing, and lending economics
  • Experience developing new products, propositions, or lending initiatives
  • Commercially focused with the ability to evaluate opportunities and make data-driven decisions
  • Comfortable operating as an individual contributor and leading through influence
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement
