What we are looking for:
At Rabobank, we believe effective risk management is a strategic enabler of long-term success. We are seeking a Director level, Senior Credit Risk Manager to help guide that ambition.
As a trusted second line leader, you will influence key business decisions, advise senior stakeholders, and drive excellence in credit risk management, portfolio oversight, and governance. Working closely with colleagues across the UK, Europe, Africa, and Asia, you will play a critical role in enabling commercial success through forward-looking risk management while supporting sustainable growth.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in credit analysis, transaction structuring, portfolio risk management, credit approval, and stakeholder engagement. You will have a strong understanding of corporate and structured lending, with the ability to identify emerging risks, challenge effectively, and translate complex risk considerations into clear, commercially sound decisions.
Key areas of focus include:
- Providing independent risk assessment, challenge, and approval of complex lending transactions.
- Monitoring portfolio trends, emerging risks, and concentration exposures.
- Influencing strategic risk discussions and supporting risk governance activities.
- Acting as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, including the Head of Risk Management UK.
- Building strong partnerships across business, Risk, Legal, Compliance, Audit, and other specialist functions.
- Sharing expertise across regional and global teams to support a consistent and proactive risk management culture.
Skills & Experience Required:
Our ideal candidate will bring expertise in wholesale, corporate lending credit risk, with a proven track record of approving complex transactions and balancing strong commercial judgement with disciplined risk management.

- Significant experience operating within a senior Credit Risk or Risk Management role in banking or financial services.
- Expertise in assessing and approving complex corporate, leveraged, and/or structured lending transactions.
- Strong portfolio risk management experience, including identifying emerging risks, concentration exposures, and market trends.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge, and build credibility with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Excellent analytical skills, with expertise in financial analysis, credit assessment, and risk evaluation.
- Strong understanding of risk governance, regulatory frameworks, and wholesale banking products.
- Commercially astute, solution-oriented, and confident in making high-impact decisions.
- Strong leadership qualities with a collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across the three lines of defence and international teams.
