Senior Credit Risk Manager
Location: London (Hybrid)
Working arrangement: Full Time
Salary: £120,000–£140,000 + bonus (flexibility depending on experience)
About the role
An established international organisation is seeking an experienced Senior Credit Risk Manager to join its risk function. The role will provide senior oversight of credit and counterparty risk, supporting the organisation in managing financial exposures and making informed commercial decisions. Working with senior stakeholders across a range of business and financial functions, you will provide independent advice, challenge and recommendations on credit-related matters.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and maintain credit risk policies, processes, and governance.
- Oversee the assessment and monitoring of counterparties and material exposures.
- Set and review credit limits in line with agreed risk parameters.
- Lead complex credit assessments and provide recommendations on higher-risk exposures.
- Monitor overall portfolio risk, concentrations, and emerging issues.
- Provide senior management with clear reporting and advice on credit risk.
- Support appropriate mitigation of significant or deteriorating exposures.
- Oversee credit controls and ensure compliance with internal requirements.
- Contribute to improvements in credit risk processes, systems, and reporting.
- Work closely with colleagues across Finance, Commercial, and other relevant functions.
- Support and develop less experienced members of the team.

About you
You will ideally have:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related subject.
- Significant experience in credit risk, financial risk, or a closely related area.
- Strong experience in counterparty assessment and financial analysis.
- Experience managing complex or material credit exposures.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment.
- The ability to influence and constructively challenge senior stakeholders.
- Good communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience of leading, mentoring, or developing others.
