About Ramp
Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We automate how over $200B in annualized spend flows in and out of 70,000+ companies: authorizing payments, flagging risk, categorizing spend, and closing books.
The problems are high-stakes, data-dense, and unforgiving.
We hire people with high agency and high urgency. We look for slope over intercept. We care less about where you trained and more about what you’ve built. At Ramp, everyone is a builder who owns problems end to end and makes consequential decisions that shape the outcome.
The median Ramp customer saves 5% and grows revenue 16% in their first year – far in excess of businesses operating without Ramp. We believe every ambitious company deserves the same.
If you want to build systems that directly shape how companies move and manage billions, Ramp is the place to do it.
About The Role
Ramp is looking for a Senior Underwriter to join our Underwriting team in Europe. You’ll evaluate businesses applying to Ramp, make credit and risk decisions, and help improve how we assess customers across our products.
This is an early regional role supporting EU and US applicants. We’re looking for someone with strong financial judgment who can work independently, make clear decisions with incomplete information, and help us build scalable underwriting processes.
What You’ll Do
- Review applications for Ramp’s corporate card and bill pay products across the EU and US.
- Analyze financial statements, bank data, bureau information, and other risk signals to assess business health and repayment ability.
- Recommend the appropriate outcome, including approval, decline, a lower limit, or a request for additional information.
- Communicate clearly with customers when additional information or context is needed.
- Manage an underwriting queue while meeting quality and SLA expectations.
- Partner with teams across Risk, Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Support to improve policies, tools, and workflows.
- Identify emerging risks and use AI and automation to improve decision quality and efficiency.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
