Role Description

The Senior Cricket Coach is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for leading and delivering high-quality cricket coaching programs for a range of age groups and skill levels. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Planning and conducting training sessions
  • Developing individualized and team development plans
  • Providing technical and tactical guidance to players
  • Observing and assessing performance
  • Giving constructive feedback
  • Preparing players for competitive matches and tournaments

  • Ensuring adherence to safety and welfare standards

  • Communicating regularly with players, guardians, and academy leadership

The Senior Cricket Coach is expected to:

  • Contribute to program design
  • Help identify emerging talent
  • Support the overall growth and reputation of the academy’s cricket offering

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in cricket coaching, including technical, tactical, and game awareness skills.
  • Minimum of ECB level 2 and full vetting details.
  • Experience designing structured training programs and long-term player development plans.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and mentoring abilities for working with diverse groups of players and staff.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage players, families, colleagues, and external partners.
  • Knowledge of player welfare, safeguarding principles, and health and safety standards in a sporting environment.
  • Ability to analyze performance using video, data, or other tools and translate insights into practical coaching interventions.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to plan sessions, schedules, and competitions efficiently.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and match days as required by the academy schedule.
  • Background checks and safeguarding clearances as required for working with young people and vulnerable individuals.
