About the Role

My client is a highly regarded specialist legal practice advising on complex and high-value tax, financial, and commercial matters. Their work includes sophisticated tax disputes, financial crime, fraud, and contentious matters, often involving significant financial exposure and technically demanding issues.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a Senior Criminal or White Collar Solicitor with 10+ years’ PQE and substantial experience in complex criminal, fraud, or financial crime matters. This is a senior opportunity for an experienced practitioner who wants to play an important role in developing the practice and contributing to its continued growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise and represent clients in complex criminal, fraud, and white-collar matters
  • Handle high-value and technically complex financial crime and tax-related disputes
  • Advise on investigations involving HMRC and other prosecuting and regulatory authorities
  • Develop case strategy and provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients
  • Conduct and oversee complex legal and factual analysis
  • Prepare detailed advice, submissions, pleadings, and other legal documentation
  • Work closely with barristers, forensic accountants, tax specialists, and other professional advisers
  • Manage significant matters from initial investigation through to litigation and resolution
  • Develop and maintain strong client and professional relationships
  • Mentor and support junior members of the team, sharing knowledge and technical expertise
  • Play an active role in developing the practice and identifying opportunities for growth

Requirements

  • Qualified Solicitor with 10+ years’ PQE
  • Substantial experience in criminal litigation, white-collar crime, fraud, or related financial crime work
  • Strong experience handling complex and high-value matters
  • Experience of tax-related investigations, HMRC enquiries, or financial crime matters advantageous
  • Excellent knowledge of criminal procedure, evidence, and litigation strategy
  • Strong analytical, drafting, and advocacy skills
  • Excellent client management and communication skills
  • Commercially minded with strong strategic judgment
  • Proven ability to manage complex matters independently
  • A genuine interest in mentoring and developing more junior lawyers
  • Ambition to play an active role in the continued growth of a specialist practice
