About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and proactive individual with excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills who enjoys working in a busy acute care environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to further develop specialist skills, knowledge, and experience in critical care, while contributing as an integral member of the multidisciplinary team.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Critical Care Scientist/Technologist, you will:
- Provide specialist clinical technology support.
- Deliver critical care medical device training.
- Support advanced clinical therapies and monitoring systems used in the care of critically ill patients.
- Contribute to the supervision, training, and development of Scientist Training Programme (STP) trainees and other members of the Critical Care Science team.

Requirements
- A high level of technical expertise and substantial experience within a critical care environment.
- Completion of the Scientist Training Programme (STP).
- Registration as a Clinical Scientist with the HCPC.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role is desirable.
Key Activities
- Provide specialist clinical and technical support for advanced critical care technologies.
- Deliver training and competency assessments for critical care staff on medical devices and clinical equipment.
- Support the safe introduction, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies and treatment modalities.
- Assist in the management, troubleshooting, and optimisation of critical care medical equipment.
- Contribute to service development, quality improvement initiatives, audit, and governance activities.
- Support STP trainees, junior staff, and multidisciplinary colleagues through teaching, supervision, and mentorship.
- Work collaboratively with clinicians, nursing staff, allied health professionals, and Clinical Technical Services to ensure safe and effective patient care.
