Senior CRM Assistant - Financial Institutions
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior CRM Assistant - Financial Institutions to join our Client Relationship Management team, based in A&O Shearman’s Belfast Office. This opportunity is available on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Client Relationship Management – Belfast
The Client Relationship Management (CRM) team sits within the Global Business Development, Marketing & Communications function. Dedication to clients is one of A&O Shearman’s core values and to this end BD and client relationship management is at the forefront of its global strategy.
What You Will Do
The Senior CRM Assistant will support Global Relationship Managers across a portfolio of accounts in the management of the firm's relationships with its priority Financial Institutions clients. The incumbent will work closely with other business development and marketing team members and with other support areas such as Finance, IT, and HR.
Role
The role will require someone who is highly organized and efficient and who enjoys getting the job done. The job will include, but not be limited to:
Documentation / reporting
- Supporting with the preparation of client-facing documentation and reports including, but not limited to: client relationship brochures, management information (MI) reports, panel pitches, management information reports, client presentations, value-add reports, and contact cards.
- Developing and distributing internal communication for the global client team and within the firm (e.g. disseminating client-specific market intelligence and internal updates). This includes the management of monthly reporting on client financial performance, recent relationship activity, pitches, and meetings.

Data collation and management
- Producing client-related research and analysis including client strategy, client structures, financial performance, key contact mapping, competitor activity, developments in the client's markets, and client needs analysis to help identify leads and opportunities.
- Collecting and coordinating various client information globally.
- Maintaining client information on internal systems to ensure it is kept up to date.
Events and client mailings
- Driving the strategic mailing process on each account to ensure strategic communications such as publications and client event invites are sent to key clients in a timely and coordinated fashion.
- Supporting the organization of client specific events, entertainment, and client training.
Calls and meetings
- Setting up, preparing for, and attending regular internal meetings with the Global Relationship Manager, Global Relationship Partners, and other core team members to agree client targeting plans, monitor progress against objectives, identify opportunities, and monitor financials.
- Producing minutes and helping to coordinate actions.
Panel management
- Understanding our panel commitments on each client account.
- Supporting the Global Relationship Manager on the management of panel requirements such as providing secondees to client. This includes pre-secondment briefings, regular catch-ups, and post-secondment debriefs.
Other
- Assisting on certain client relationship management priority projects designed to support the development of the firm's client relationship management approach.
- Supporting sector-wide initiatives.

What You Will Have
- Relevant business development or marketing experience within a professional services environment.
- An interest in the financial institutions sector.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines, handle multiple projects, and perform under pressure.
- Self-motivated with the ability to complete tasks independently.
- Proactive, responsive, and a strong team player.
- Excellent communication skills, particularly when collaborating with stakeholders across different regions.
- Creative and design skills for presentations, proposals, and event materials.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
