ROLE OVERVIEW
As a Senior CRO Designer at ConversionWise, you own the design of ecommerce experiences that turn paid traffic into customers. You bring extensive hands-on UX/UI experience across landing pages, product pages, advertorials, listicles, collection pages, quizzes, and cart journeys, alongside a strong track record designing A/B experiments.
Our AI execution layer supports research, hypotheses, copywriting, design briefing, and development. Working with the CRO team, you turn that direction into effective post-click experiences. You own the design response, challenge weak assumptions, and resolve complex UX/UI problems with sound commercial and visual judgment.
This is a senior, hands-on design role. You can take a brief from initial insight through wireframes, polished responsive designs, and development handover, explain your decisions confidently, and use experimentation results to improve the next iteration.
This is a fully remote role reporting to the CRO team lead. Working hours are flexible, with prompt, efficient communication expected during agreed working hours.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
UX/UI and Post-Click Design
- Own UX/UI design across landing pages, product pages, advertorials, listicles, collection pages, quizzes, and cart journeys, with supporting advertising creatives where required.
- Translate customer research and CRO hypotheses into wireframes, persuasive page structures, and complete post-click journeys aligned with the ad, audience, and offer.
- Design polished mobile and desktop experiences with clear hierarchy, intuitive interaction, and consistent client branding.
- Develop distinct design concepts and experiment variants, making the proposed change and its conversion rationale clear.
Collaboration and Client Context
- Work with the CRO team to understand the customer, the commercial goal, and the hypothesis before designing.
- Participate in client discussions to capture branding and design requirements accurately.
- Present and defend design decisions clearly, challenge briefs constructively, and resolve feedback with the conversion goal in view.
Testing and Performance
- Own the design contribution to A/B experimentation, working with strategists to translate hypotheses into testable changes and clearly defined control and variant experiences.
- Use analytics, performance metrics, and test findings to assess the effectiveness of design decisions.
- Refine designs based on evidence and carry relevant learning into future projects.
- Support the appropriate validation approach for each project rather than assuming every design change requires an A/B test.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Design Quality and Delivery
- Deliver accurate, consistent designs that meet client requirements and agreed timelines.
- Prepare organized Figma files, reusable components, responsive layouts, and interaction states so developers can implement the intended experience accurately.
- Review designs and implemented experiences for visual quality, usability, and fidelity to the agreed hypothesis.
- Manage multiple projects, communicate progress, and flag missing information or delivery risks early.
AI and Execution Layer
- Use AI-supported research and design briefs to accelerate your understanding of the problem and explore relevant solutions.
- Apply your own judgment to AI output, checking it against customer needs, brand requirements, and the agreed hypothesis.
- Share useful design approaches and process improvements that help the wider team deliver better work.
WHAT GOOD LOOKS LIKE
- You can review an existing page, identify UX friction, and explain which design changes are worth exploring. You turn that thinking into a clear design response, from page structure to detailed interactions, without needing step-by-step creative direction.
- Your portfolio-level design craft is evident across page types and devices. The experience connects the ad promise to the page, communicates the offer clearly, and helps the customer move confidently towards purchase.
- The CRO team and developers receive clear, well-organized work on time. You raise questions early, respond constructively to feedback, and resolve details before they become delivery problems.
- You use performance results to improve your thinking. When a design does not perform as expected, you work with the team to understand why and apply that learning to the next iteration.
EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
- Extensive hands-on experience in ecommerce UX/UI and conversion design, with a track record of independently delivering complex projects at a senior level.
- A substantial portfolio covering landing pages, product pages, and other post-click formats, showing your role, design rationale, responsive execution, and commercial results where available.
- Advanced Figma proficiency, including components, responsive layouts, prototyping, and development handover; strong working knowledge of supporting design tools.
- Deep understanding of UX/UI, visual hierarchy, information architecture, and customer behaviour across mobile and desktop buying journeys.
- Analytical skills and experience using tools such as Google Analytics to understand design performance and inform improvements.
- Demonstrable experience designing A/B experiments, from hypothesis and control/variant definition through to interpreting findings with the CRO team and iterating.
- Proven ability to own design decisions, manage multiple client projects, and communicate complex design rationale confidently.
- Fluent English with clear visual, written, and verbal communication.

Desirable
- CXL certification in Conversion Rate Optimization.
- Experience using AI within a design workflow and critically reviewing its output.
- Experience contributing to shared design approaches, internal playbooks, or process improvements.
BEHAVIOURS AND MINDSET
- Commercially aware: You connect design decisions to customer behaviour and business outcomes. Visual quality and conversion performance both matter.
- Evidence-led: You use research and performance data to guide your work, and update your thinking when the results challenge your assumptions.
- Proactive by default: You anticipate questions, identify missing information, and raise delivery risks before they affect the team or client.
- High standards: You care about the accuracy, clarity, and usability of every design you share, whether or not someone else is checking.
- Collaborative and curious: You welcome questions and feedback, share ideas, and actively develop your conversion design skills.
FIRST 90 DAYS
- 30 days: Learn our methodology, systems, and client context. Review existing journeys, identify design opportunities, and deliver your first responsive designs and experiment variants.
- 60 days: Independently own complex post-click design projects from brief to handover, contribute to experiment planning, and present clear design recommendations.
- 90 days: Consistently deliver senior-level design work, apply available experiment findings to new iterations, and improve the team’s design standards and delivery practices.
WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT
- Not a purely aesthetic design role. Every design needs a clear connection to the customer problem and the commercial goal.
- Not a role where you work in isolation. You collaborate closely with the CRO team, developers, and clients to turn hypotheses into effective experiences.
- Not a testing-for-the-sake-of-testing role. You help the team learn from the appropriate validation approach for the client and the change.
- Not a role where AI replaces design judgment. You need to be comfortable using the tools while taking responsibility for the quality of your work.
