Senior Crude Trading Operator | Physical Crude | London
London, UK | Hybrid | Up to £95,000 + Bonus + Benefits
A leading international energy trading business is looking to add an experienced Senior Crude Trading Operator to its London trading team.
This is a front office aligned operations position supporting physical crude traders and taking responsibility for cargo execution across the North Sea and international markets. Direct physical crude oil operations experience and hands on North Sea crude exposure are required for this position.
The Role
- Take ownership of physical crude cargoes from trade confirmation through to final delivery.
- Manage voyage orders, documentary instructions, vessel nominations, Letters of Credit, cargo insurance, date and quantity nominations and vessel clearances.
- Manage and optimise physical operations across the North Sea crude portfolio, including equity, third party and traded cargoes.
- Support the operational and contractual execution of BFOE/BFOETM activities.
- Coordinate directly with crude traders, shipping, terminals, refineries, inspection companies and counterparties.
- Act as a key operational contact for terminals regarding loading programmes and cargo nominations.
- Work alongside scheduling, credit, middle office, back office, insurance, legal, finance and contracts teams.
- Identify and resolve operational issues while minimising demurrage, deviation, dead freight and other commercial costs.

What We're Looking For
- Proven experience operating physical crude oil cargoes within an oil major, commodity trading house or similar trading environment.
- Direct North Sea crude operations experience.
- Experience managing physical crude cargoes throughout the full operational lifecycle.
- Knowledge of BFOE/BFOETM, lifting agreements and spot and term crude contracts is highly desirable.
- Hands on experience with nominations, voyage orders, Bills of Lading, inspections, Letters of Credit, cargo insurance and vessel clearances.
- Understanding of trading and shipping operations, including cargoes, voyage charters, time charters and quality and quantity controls.
- Comfortable working directly with traders in a fast paced, commercially focused environment.
