Location: Hybrid – Hemel Hempstead and Customer locations as required
Job Length: Permanent

Carlsberg Britvic is the largest multi-beverage supplier in the UK and is home to some of the most iconic and popular beers & soft drinks, including Carlsberg Danish Pilsner, 1664, Poretti and Brooklyn to ale favourites such as Hobgoblin and Wainwright. For soft drinks, Carlsberg Britvic’s brands include J2O, Robinsons, Tango and London Essence along with the licence rights to the Pepsi portfolio in the UK including Pepsi MAX, 7UP, poppi, Lipton Iced Tea and Rockstar Energy.
With a strong national footprint, the Carlsberg Britvic business includes 5 production facilities and 16 logistics depot’s servicing customers up and down the UK. As these two historical businesses have come together, the one common goal remains, and that is ensuring our people succeed.
About the Role:
The Senior Customer Marketing Manager is responsible for bringing the Grocery shopper marketing strategy to life within Tesco, delivering creative, insight-led and commercially grounded activations that drive growth across our Beer portfolio.
Working cross-functionally with Brand, Commercial, Customer Marketing and agency partners, the role leads the development and execution of annual customer activation plans, ensuring alignment between brand ambition, channel strategy and customer priorities.

Alongside accountability for delivering best-in-class shopper marketing activity in Tesco, the Senior Customer Marketing Manager will act as a Brand Champion for designated Beer brands, helping shape future plans, embedding best practice across the Customer Marketing team and leading key strategic projects to strengthen our Customer Marketing capability.
Managing a Customer Marketing Executive, this role combines strategic thinking, stakeholder leadership and operational excellence to deliver outstanding execution and commercial results.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead the implementation of Grocery channel and shopper marketing strategies within Tesco, translating plans into impactful customer activation programmes.
- Develop and deliver annual customer, brand and portfolio activation plans that drive shopper engagement, brand growth and commercial performance.
- Act as Customer Marketing Brand Champion for designated Beer brands, driving alignment, quality and capability across brand and shopper initiatives.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships across Marketing, Commercial, Customer Marketing and agency partners to align priorities and deliver plans effectively.
- Manage shopper marketing and retail media investment, ensuring robust budget control, optimisation and delivery of customer marketing plans.
- Drive performance measurement, evaluation and continuous improvement, translating insights into actions that maximise business results.
- Lead, coach and develop a Customer Marketing Executive, building capability and fostering a high-performing team culture.
Experience and Key Attributes:
- Shopper marketing and retail media expertise, with a proven track record of developing and delivering commercially grounded, insight-led activations within Top 4 Grocery
- Strong stakeholder leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior internal, customer and agency partners to achieve shared objectives.
- Excellent programme and project management capability, with experience of leading multiple complex workstreams to agreed timelines, budgets and business outcomes.
- Strong commercial and category acumen, with the ability to interpret shopper, customer and performance data and translate insights into action.
- Proven experience of managing significant shopper marketing and media investment budgets, balancing commercial delivery with strong financial governance.
- High standards of execution and attention to detail, balanced with the ability to maintain a strategic and long-term perspective.
- Experience of developing and executing customer plans across multiple retail channels within a consumer goods organisation.
- Experience of coaching, developing or line managing individuals is desirable, alongside a passion for building capability, fostering engagement and supporting high performance within teams.
