Senior Cyber Engineer

Help protect a large and complex technology estate. You will lead the development and optimisation of key security technologies, provide senior technical expertise and help embed security solutions into day-to-day operations.

About The Role

Our Cyber Security Engineering team protects information assets and supports the detection, analysis and response to security events. We are looking for a Senior Cyber Engineer to strengthen the team and provide hands-on technical leadership across our security technology estate.

Working closely with security leaders, architects, technology operations teams and third-party suppliers, you will ensure our security tools are configured effectively, deliver the right level of protection and provide useful information to Security Operations.

What You'll Do

  • Maintain and develop key security technologies, ensuring Security Operations has reliable access to the tools and information it needs.
  • Work with security architects and technology operations teams to improve the configuration and performance of supporting security technologies.
  • Lead technical activity to strengthen protection and logging across new and existing technologies.
  • Act as a senior technical subject matter expert for security projects and support their transition into business-as-usual operations.
  • Produce and present relevant KPI and KRI reporting, providing clear recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Build strong relationships across technology teams and provide practical guidance on the placement, maintenance and support of security technologies.
  • Lead and direct third-party suppliers, making sure delivery and support meet agreed timescales and service levels.
  • Coach and develop less experienced engineers and support the effective delivery of a small team.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
