Senior Cyber Engineering Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cyber Engineering Consultant to support the delivery of cyber and information security activities across complex engineering and technology programmes within a highly regulated environment. This is an opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, helping to ensure products and systems meet security requirements, regulatory obligations, and customer expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver cyber and information security activities throughout the engineering lifecycle.
  • Conduct cyber risk assessments, threat modelling and vulnerability analysis.
  • Support the development and assessment of security requirements and security controls.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to embed security into system and product designs.
  • Provide security guidance across hardware, software, firmware and operational technology environments.
  • Support secure-by-design initiatives and accreditation activities.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate security risks and recommendations.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a Cyber Security or Cyber Engineering role.
  • Experience working within complex engineering or technology environments.
  • Strong understanding of cyber risk management and security assurance principles.
  • Experience conducting threat modelling, vulnerability assessments and security reviews.
  • Experience defining and managing security requirements throughout the system lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of MOD Secure by Design approaches and associated security frameworks.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

  • Operational Technology (OT) security, including exposure to IEC 62443
  • Product Security engineering.
  • Experience supporting defence, aerospace, electronics, manufacturing or other highly regulated sectors.
  • Exposure to complex systems involving sensors, radar, electro-optics, communications or similar technologies.
  • Security architecture and secure systems engineering.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Cyber Security, Engineering or a related discipline, or
  • Equivalent recognised cyber security certification.

Additional Information

  • Location: Bristol (hybrid working, approximately 20% onsite)
  • Contract: Until December 2026
  • Inside IR35
  • SC Clearance
