The Opportunity
The Senior Cyber Security Analyst is responsible for implementation and maintenance of advanced security controls, conducting comprehensive security assessments, managing and responding to complex security incidents, and providing expert technical guidance.

This role involves delivery of implementing security measures, proactive risk management, and close collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure the organization's robust security posture and alignment to regulatory and compliance requirements. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the cyber security analysts, the Senior Cyber Security Analyst will guide analysts in performing Business As Usual (BAU) activities, including daily checks, incident response (IR), event monitoring, and response, etc.
Additionally, they will work closely with team lead/manager to manage workloads, drive initiatives, uplift the team environment, and mentor junior team members.
This is a full-time permanent position, based in Glasgow with hybrid working.
Main responsibilities include:
- Oversee and enhance monitoring of security alerts and events using advanced security information and event management (SIEM) tools
- Lead the analysis of security logs and alerts to identify potential security incidents
- Perform and supervise comprehensive analysis of security logs, network traffic, and data to detect and respond to advanced threats
- Implement and oversee corrective actions and security measures to prevent future incidents
- Develop and implement processes to prevent recurring security incidents and address underlying issues

About you
The successful candidate will have:
- Relevant Cyber Security and/or IT experience
- Experience in metric reporting and KPI/SLA management
- Experience with security technologies such as firewalls, SIEM, DLP, and endpoint protection
- Experience working with Jira, Azure DevOps, ITSM tools such as Cherwell and ServiceNow, and the MS Office suite
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, along with a track record of establishing and maintaining effective relationships and collaborating with stakeholders
