Your Impact
You will operate as the governance and control counterpart to the firm’s overall citizen development agenda, effecting change primarily through collaboration.
You will be part of the Digital Trust Office. You will have two key remits: you will own governance and control for how colleagues across the firm build using AI tooling; and, you will work with networked capabilities group to help align to the same governance and controls.
On the first remit, you will take the firm’s citizen development governance framework from a set of proposed measures to a working system of accountability and then supporting and enabling the teams to deliver against the firms’ agenda. Three areas are addressed are: can colleagues build easily, are we safe while they build and share, is the spend justified?
Based on these, you will create target metrics and sub-metrics across the entire citizen development journey, from awareness through build and deployment to handover and maintenance. You will not own those measures yourself but will make sure each one has an owner who is accountable, who reports against it, and who understands how their part connects to creating value for the firm.
On the second remit, you will establish governance and controls for networked capabilities. Because many of the deliverables are client-facing, this requires a thoughtful, balanced approach: controls must support safe, accountable delivery without slowing client work unnecessarily, while also ensuring the firm is not exposed to unnecessary risk such as in the pursuit of delivery speed.
You and your team will establish the cadence, tracking, reporting, and day-to-day interface with delivery groups, while you personally maintain senior relationships. This will help coordinate a broad coalition of key firm groups such as Client Service Enablement, Platform McKinsey, development and deployment teams, device management teams, Risk and Control teams, to deliver against the firm’s Citizen Development agenda.

Your Qualifications and Skills
- 8+ years of experience in Cyber program or initiative management, technology governance, technology risk, or a related discipline, including time spent running a cross-organizational programs in a large, federated, global organization
- Demonstrated record of establishing accountability across teams that do not report to you — agreeing owners, agreeing measures, and getting those owners to report against them willingly rather than under instruction
- Experience designing and operating a measurement framework end to end, including the registers, definitions, data sources and evidence artefacts that sit behind a published metric, and the judgement to say plainly when a number cannot yet be trusted
- Technical fluency to confidently interact with platform, tooling and engineering teams
- Strong stakeholder management at senior levels, with the credibility to be the direct counterpart to the leaders who set direction for citizen development across the firm
- Experience leading a small team, including managing a technical lead and a programme office
- Comfortable operating with incomplete information in a new and changing area, and able to scope tightly, sequence sensibly, and be explicit about what is deliberately out of scope
