Great Lakes Insurance UK Limited (“GLLS”), regulated by Prudential Regulation Authority and the Financial Conduct Authority, is a fully owned subsidiary of Great Lakes Insurance SE and acts as the preferred facilitator of agency insurance business in the UK in the post-Brexit world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Pricing and Analytics team, ensuring excellent data quality and governance across UK Underwriting and Product Team data, and driving effective data management and insight generation.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of internal MI dashboards and data initiatives that support the wider business, providing clear reporting on Underwriting and Product performance for senior management and internal and external stakeholders, including GIPP quarterly and annual attestation.
  • Oversee and review pricing of DA products, including analysis of commissions, ensuring robust data governance underpins all pricing outputs.
  • Review pricing models, product definitions, and data analytic techniques used during the product approval process for any new products distributed by Great Lakes.
  • Provide feedback on price and value during the product review process, ensuring our products meet regulatory requirements from a pricing, data governance, and monitoring perspective.
  • Support and add value to the continuous monitoring process for our delegated authority business, embedding strong data practices throughout.
  • Lead the Pricing and Analytics team's collaboration with Underwriting and Product Teams across London and Munich on analytical topics and data initiatives.
  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships, participating in selected quarterly meetings with respective Business Units or Agents to discuss current performance and data-driven insights.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in personal lines pricing roles within the insurance industry, with a strong understanding of pricing and underwriting performance.
  • Strong data governance and data quality management experience, with hands-on data analytics experience and relevant software training (e.g. SQL, Python, Power BI, or similar).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining MI dashboards and leading data initiatives, ideally within an insurance or financial services environment.
  • Proven people management experience, with the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team.
  • Strong analytical abilities and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a collaborative team player, and highly motivated.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders across the business, including senior management.

Desired Qualifications and Educational Background:

  • Knowledge of Power BI (or other visualisation tools)
  • Knowledge of R and/or Python
  • Suitable technical experience or equivalent technical degree
