We’re building Housr to make life easier for students living off campus, from finding somewhere to live to accessing the services, offers and experiences around them.
We’ve reached $10m ARR and raised a $10m Series A to support our growth. As we expand across the UK and North America, we’re looking for a Senior Data Analyst to help us make better use of the data across our business.
The opportunity
We collect useful data across our product, sales, marketing and operations. The next step is turning more of it into clear answers that help teams decide what to do.
You’ll own analysis across the business, build reporting that people can use themselves, and investigate the questions that need a closer look. That could mean understanding why one student cohort is more engaged than another, where people drop out of a journey, or how acquisition costs compare with the value customers bring.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role, with regular contact across the business and leadership team, and has room to shape how we work with data.
Why this role is interesting
Our current setup includes MySQL, HubSpot, Google Analytics and Metabase. Some analysis can happen within those systems today; joining information across them still involves manual work.
We’re planning a more connected data platform. You’ll help define the questions it needs to answer, the metrics we should agree on and the reporting teams need, working with engineering and external specialists on the wider build. There’s plenty of useful analysis to get into while that work develops.

What you’ll own
- Proactive analysis of product usage, cohorts, conversion, retention and commercial performance.
- Clear recommendations that help Product, Sales, Marketing, Finance and Operations make decisions.
- Dashboards and reporting that give teams a reliable view of their performance.
- Shared definitions for important metrics, with clear documentation and checks on data quality.
- Ad hoc investigations that explain what is happening, why it might be happening and what we should do next.
- Practical ways to combine data from different sources, being clear about any gaps or limitations.
- Support for colleagues to understand and use data in their day-to-day work and quarterly reviews.
- Input into the future data warehouse, including reporting requirements, useful data models and consistent definitions.
What we’re looking for
- You’ve taken analysis from an initial business question through to a recommendation that people acted on.
- You’re confident using SQL to investigate relational data, join datasets and check your work.
- You’ve built dashboards in Metabase or a comparable BI tool, and helped colleagues use them.
- You understand product and commercial measures such as cohorts, conversion, retention, customer acquisition cost and lifetime value.
- You can explain your findings clearly to people who don’t work in data, including where the evidence is incomplete.
- You’re organised, careful with detail and comfortable deciding which questions deserve attention first.
- You enjoy working across teams and can challenge an assumption or ask a difficult question constructively.

A real nice to have
- Experience in a marketplace, consumer product, subscription business or growing technology company would be useful.
- Familiarity with HubSpot, Google Analytics or a warehouse project would also help.
- We’re open to someone already working at Senior level or an experienced analyst ready for broader ownership.
