Data Analyst - Insurance Data & Visualisation Transformation
The Project
We are supporting a global insurance organisation undertaking a major transformation of its data and visualisation capabilities.
You will join a multidisciplinary delivery team responsible for consuming data from multiple sources, analysing and transforming it to meet business requirements, and producing complex, mission-critical reporting and visualisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting needs, data challenges and operational pain points.
- Gather, document and translate business requirements into clear analytical and technical specifications.
- Analyse, profile and cleanse large, complex datasets from multiple source systems.
- Investigate data-quality issues, identify root causes and support their resolution.
- Create mapping specifications to support data transformation and migration activities.
- Design conceptual, logical and physical data models.
- Write and optimise SQL queries for data analysis, validation and reporting.
- Develop dashboards and visualisations that communicate complex information clearly.
- Support reconciliation and validation of outputs to ensure accuracy across mission-critical reporting.
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing with business stakeholders.
- Manage requirements, user stories and priorities using tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Collaborate closely with Data Engineers, QA Engineers, Delivery Managers and business users throughout the project.

Essential Experience
- Strong commercial experience as a Data Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar data-focused role.
- Excellent SQL skills.
- Experience analysing, profiling, cleansing and validating large datasets.
- Strong requirements-gathering and documentation capabilities.
- Experience working with both OLTP and OLAP systems.
- Understanding of data modelling and database design.
- Experience producing source-to-target mappings or data migration specifications.
- Experience creating dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Qlik or a comparable visualisation platform.
- Strong stakeholder-management and communication skills.
- Experience coordinating UAT and supporting data-quality assurance.
- Comfortable working within Agile delivery teams.
- AWS cloud services.
- Python, particularly pandas.
- dbt.
- Spark or PySpark.
- Airflow.
- Docker.

Desirable Technical Experience
- Previous experience within insurance, financial services or another highly regulated environment.
- Experience producing complex or business-critical reporting and visualisations.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a technically capable analyst who can operate confidently between business and engineering teams. You should be comfortable challenging unclear requirements, investigating complex data issues and turning technical findings into clear, meaningful insights for stakeholders.
Accuracy, attention to detail and strong communication will be essential, as the outputs produced by the team will support important business decisions across a global insurance organisation.
Interview Process
Data Analyst candidates will complete a short technical assessment in their own time, followed by a one-stage interview process.
