Senior Data Analyst
Job Overview
Own the design, development, and optimisation of Power BI reports and semantic models that measure software engineering productivity, operational performance, and AI tool usage across teams and OpCos. Translate raw data into clear, actionable insights for engineers, managers, and senior leadership. Work closely with product leads, engineering leadership, and software engineers to deliver solutions from POC to production.

Shifts: Monday – Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Key Skills
- Power BI (Advanced): DAX, data modelling, performance optimisation, visual design, RLS, workspace governance, and knowledge of Power BI best practices.
- SQL (Intermediate): Collaborate with engineers to create analytical views (ability to write efficient queries is a bonus).
- Engineering Domain Knowledge: Understanding of software engineering, GitHub structures (repos, teams, PRs, deployments), and modern AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor) would be useful.
- Consulting Skills: Strong communication, requirements shaping and ability to translate ambiguous questions into clear analytical solutions.
- Cloud: Experience with Amazon Athena useful but not essential (easy enough to pick up).
- AI: Understanding of the use of AI tools at each stage of development.

Responsibilities
- Power BI Development: Build and optimise semantic models, write advanced DAX, implement RLS, design clean and effective dashboards, and manage Power BI Workspaces and Apps.
- Data Integration & Modelling: Partner with software engineers to design efficient SQL/Athena views to integrate data into PBI reports.
- Metric Design: Define, implement, and validate engineering metrics through exploratory data analysis and iterative refinement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work with engineering team and leadership to gather requirements, communicate insights, and clearly explain metric assumptions, limitations, and data constraints.
- Data Quality & Governance: Promote good data quality practices, consistency, and reliability across all reporting assets.

- This role provides a hybrid working access from the comforts of your own home and only going to our state-of-the-art office in Paddington (2/3) days per week.
