We collaborate closely with authors, editors, reviewers, and societies to ensure the integrity and impact of the published work. Through innovation in editorial workflows and publishing technology, we help global research communities discover, evaluate, and disseminate knowledge that advances science and improves lives.
The STMJ Data & Analytics team is a global group of data professionals dedicated to delivering high-quality insights and analytics that enable data-driven decision-making. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, the team transforms complex data into actionable recommendations that drive performance, innovation, and customer value.
About the Role
As a Senior Data Analyst, you will own complex data products and solutions from initial business questions through to delivery. You will partner with senior stakeholders and technical colleagues, contributing hands-on to data models and semantic layers for AI-based solutions while helping the team deliver reliable, reusable outcomes at pace.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage complex analytics projects from planning through delivery, translating loosely defined business questions into the right data solutions to address them
- Collaborate directly with product managers, analytics engineers and other technologists on data product and solution development, applying governance principles to ensure our products are reliable and reusable
- Engage and influence internally, acting as a trusted thought partner to senior stakeholders, playing a direct role in shaping strategy and advocating for data-driven decision making
- Continuously adapt to new tools and technologies, adopting emerging techniques to improve our end solutions and critically, our speed of delivery
- Play a direct role in levelling up the team by coaching junior colleagues in business engagement, analysis design and end-to-end project management

Requirements
- Substantial experience in a data-oriented role is essential, as is a proven track record of owning and managing complex projects to delivery
- Flexibility, speed and a bias for action are a must. Our team moves fast and so must you
- You are a confident and clear communicator who can influence both senior and technical stakeholders
- You are detail-orientated and a critical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills
- You have strong experience in data preparation and blending, whether in Excel, Snowflake or other data platforms
- Knowledge of AI assisted product development practices is an advantage, but not essential
- Experience in scholarly publishing, research or a related industry is an advantage, but not essential
