Senior Data Analyst
A leading global organisation is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to join a growing team supporting financial and compliance reporting. This is a hands-on role where you'll work closely with Finance, Accounting, Tax, and Technology stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions, investigate complex data issues, and improve reporting processes.
As part of a collaborative team of analysts, you'll work with large-scale datasets, support key reporting requirements, and identify opportunities to drive efficiency through automation and AI-enabled solutions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data challenges and making a tangible impact through data.
This is a 2-year contract role, looking for the analyst to start as soon as possible. The business works hybrid, working 3 days a week in their Central London office.

- Writing and optimising SQL queries to analyse large and complex datasets
- Supporting business stakeholders with ad hoc data requests and reporting requirements
- Investigating and resolving data quality issues across multiple systems
- Working with large-scale financial and compliance data to ensure reporting accuracy
- Collaborating with technology teams to troubleshoot data pipelines and support system enhancements
- Supporting ETL processes and data transformation activities
- Identifying opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency
- Leveraging AI and automation tools to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities
- Partnering with Finance, Accounting, and Tax teams to understand data requirements and deliver actionable insights
- Contributing to projects focused on process improvement, scalability, and data governance

What We're Looking For
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on SQL experience in a commercial environment
- Strong data analysis skills with experience handling large, complex datasets
- Experience working with ETL processes, data warehouses, or data pipelines
- Ability to investigate data discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Highly Desirable
- Exposure to indirect tax, VAT, tax compliance, accounting, audit, or broader finance processes
- Experience supporting financial reporting or compliance functions
- Knowledge of AWS technologies such as Redshift, S3, or EC2
- Experience with Python, Alteryx, Power BI, Tableau, or similar analytics tools
- Practical experience using AI tools to automate processes and improve efficiency
