Job Summary
Are you ready to shape the future of data-driven decision-making across one of the World’s leading renewable energy businesses? At RES we are driving transformation through the power of data and insights – and we’re looking for a visionary Data Architect to lead the way.
In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing and delivering a scalable, secure, and future-ready data and analytics platform that will serve as the single source of truth for our enterprise. Your mission: to empower teams across the business with reliable, real-time insights that drive smarter, faster, and more impactful decisions.
You’ll sit within our Data & Analytics function, collaborating with technology and business stakeholders to shape strategy, ensure integration across systems, and champion data modernisation at scale. Accountabilities
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
- Own the target-state data architecture and platform technical direction for the Azure data and AI platform and analytics ecosystem. Ensure the platform is secure, governed, cost-effective, and designed for scalable data products, BI and AI/ML.
- Lead data and AI architecture and platform decisions, standards and designs, working closely with IT enterprise architecture, engineering, security and vendors to deliver a coherent, supportable platform.
- Lead the azure data and AI platform and architecture team and external vendors to deliver work to high standards.
- Set data and AI platform architectural standards and guardrails, design and lead security and privacy including legislation and regulative standards and integration across IT.
- Own integration data and AI architecture and source onboarding patterns.
- Lead data and AI platform strategy and roadmap and technical debt remediation, drive tooling and implementations.
- Coach the IT team, central and regional data and AI architects, engineers and analytics engineers on best practices and provide global standards and guardrails. Partner with AI/ML stakeholders to ensure platform supports needs.
- Ensure data and AI is managed effectively and made available to services in the right way. Influence organisational strategy through robust evidence and insight.

Skills
The successful candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Deep and significant skills in global data and AI architecture, data engineering, data platforms and analytics leadership roles.
- TOGAF certification (preferred) or demonstrable experience in enterprise data and AI architecture.
- Strong cloud platform data and AI architecture and platform capability, skills and qualifications.
- Deep understanding of AI and semantic and dimensional modelling patterns and how they fit into enterprise architecture.
- AI/ML platform requirements.
- Effective communicator with strong influencing, negotiating, and relationship building skills. Ability to articulate architecture and data platforms to executives. Ability to translate complex data into meaningful insight for non-technical audiences.
- Able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and lead through change.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to delivery and data teams across different data architectures and platforms.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and commitment to ethical data use.
- Strong executive written documentation, planning, organisation, prioritisation and design governance, and discipline.
- Passionate about data and AI platforms and innovative to enable RES to stay ahead of and implement global best practice in modern, scalable and future proof data platform.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in data, AI. Architecture, Analytics, Data Science, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data architecture and platform management and operations, with track record of delivering secure, high-value global data solutions.
- Significant experience as a global data platform architect/platform lead in a global enterprise environment.
- Proven delivery of cloud-based data and AI platforms with governance, security and scalable analytics consumption.
- Demonstrable experience in designing and delivering Microsoft Fabric data and AI foundations, architecting and implementing scalable, reliable end-to-end data solutions using Azure/Microsoft Fabric services, covering data lakes, data warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Leadership and line management of data/AI architecture and platform team driving a high performance, accountability, innovation and the latest technology for automation, cost efficiency and innovation.
- Experience establishing data and AI architecture standards, reference designs and technical assurance processes.
- In depth knowledge and practical implementation of compliance frameworks and global employment regulations.
- Knowledge of global data and AI standardization, modelling and reporting frameworks for harmonizing data definitions, taxonomies, and formats across regions.
- It is mandatory that you have proven experience in data architecture/engineering for ERP integration and migration from legacy to modern platforms. Plus extensive experience in financial and human resources data, corporate services multiple system integration data architecture in a global context.
- Experience in AI/ML enablement and integration with data and analytics platforms.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, alongside technical breadth in data architecture and platforms.
- Extensive experience briefing executive leaders and running data and AI architecture and platform programmes across the world.
