Join the Commodity Accounting Exchanges team on a fixed-term basis and help transform our global exchange accounting processes. As the central accounting hub for exchange-related activities across Supply & Trading GmbH (RWEST), the team supports a rapidly growing portfolio of products, exchanges and legal entities worldwide.

You will apply your data analytics and automation expertise as well as your process understanding to analyse exchange-related trading data, automate recurring activities and improve the quality, efficiency and resilience of our accounting processes.

About the role

  • Take ownership of key exchange accounting processes and drive their continuous improvement through automation, data analytics and process optimisation, increasing accuracy, transparency and efficiency across the end-to-end process landscape.
  • Analyse trading, margin, P&L and cash flow data to generate actionable insights and support business-critical decisions.
  • Develop and enhance scalable reporting, analytics and data solutions using SQL, Power Query, Power BI and comparable technologies.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives and collaborate with stakeholders across Accounting, Risk, Trading, Clearing and Operations to deliver data-driven and process-focused improvements.
  • Support the integration of new exchanges, products and business requirements into a scalable and resilient accounting framework.
  • Translate complex data into meaningful insights and recommendations for management and subject matter experts.

  • Strong IT or finance background, ideally with exposure to commodity trading, exchange-traded products, clearing or settlement processes.
  • Proven experience in data analysis, process optimisation and automation within commodity trading, energy markets, financial services or another data-intensive environment.
  • Confident handling large data sets, using tools such as SQL, advanced Excel, Power Query or Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive process improvements and translate business requirements into scalable analytical solutions.
  • Strong communication, ownership and collaboration skills, with fluent business English and the ability to align international, cross-functional stakeholders.

Advantageous, but not essential

  • Good understanding of exchange-traded products, derivatives, margining and related business workflows.
  • Experience with Python or another programming language for advanced analytics, automation, data engineering or AI-enabled solutions.
  • Experience with commodity trading platforms and industry-specific systems such as Endur, SAP S/4HANA or comparable trading and accounting solutions.
  • Knowledge of accounting, risk management, financial reporting or regulatory requirements within commodity trading and exchange-related businesses.
  • Good German language skills to support collaboration with local stakeholders and documentation requirements where needed.
