The Opportunity
As Senior Data and Reporting Analyst, you will join our Data, MI & Automation team at an exciting point in our transformation journey. As the business continues to grow and our data capabilities evolve, you will have the opportunity to influence how reporting and insight are delivered across the organisation.
You will take ownership of established, business-critical Management Information while playing a key role in shaping its future. This includes challenging existing ways of working, simplifying and automating manual processes, and helping transition our reporting estate towards modern, scalable solutions using Power BI, Power Platform, and emerging data, AI & automation capabilities.
Working within a collaborative team of eight and reporting directly to the Head of Data, MI & Automation, you will gain broad exposure across the business, including participation in our monthly Data Forum. You will have the opportunity to influence change, work closely with a range of stakeholders and contribute to the continued development of our wider data capability.
This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys making things better, wants to develop their experience with modern reporting and automation tools, and is excited by the opportunity to help shape the future of reporting and insight within a growing business.
Key Responsibilities
- Own, produce and deliver accurate, timely recurring MI and business-critical reporting to stakeholders, including maintaining and running established legacy Excel and VBA-based reporting processes.
- Ensure the continuity and reliability of existing reporting while progressively improving and modernising the reporting estate.
- Proactively assess manual and spreadsheet-based reporting to identify opportunities for automation, simplification, rationalisation and migration to governed BI solutions, reducing manual effort and operational risk.
- Build, enhance and maintain Power BI reports, datasets and data models aligned with enterprise standards, with a focus on clear, effective and user-friendly reporting.
- Use Power Query and Power Automate, alongside appropriate reporting tools, to automate data preparation, refresh and report distribution where this delivers business value.
- Handle ad hoc reporting and data requests, translating business questions into appropriate reporting solutions and balancing these demands with recurring BAU delivery.
- Partner with stakeholders across the business to understand reporting requirements, challenge them constructively where appropriate, and recommend solutions that improve decision-making and user experience.
- Design and implement robust quality controls and reconciliations, investigating data discrepancies and working with Data Governance, IT and Operations teams to resolve issues.
- Maintain clear documentation of report definitions, data sources, calculations, refresh schedules and source-to-report lineage, applying relevant data governance and metadata standards.
- Contribute to report rationalisation by identifying duplicate, redundant or low-value reports and supporting their controlled retirement or consolidation.
- Support greater self-service reporting capability by creating reusable, governed BI assets and helping users make effective use of Power BI and related tools.
- Continuously improve reporting processes and ways of working, bringing forward practical ideas for automation, efficiency and better use of data.
- Share knowledge and good practice with colleagues, supporting capability development across MI, BI and reporting activities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
