Data Architect
Leading payments company looking for a Data Architect to join the team on a long-term contract basis. You will work across business, architecture and engineering teams to understand requirements and design scalable, practical and well-governed data solutions.
This role will focus on architecture, enterprise and domain modelling, documentation, governance, integration patterns and guiding delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate business and technical requirements into data architecture designs
- Produce domain, conceptual, logical and physical data models
- Design scalable solutions for transactional and enterprise systems
- Define data integration patterns and architecture standards
- Contribute to data strategy and architecture-governance reviews
- Produce clear architecture documentation, presentations and technical artefacts
- Assess technology options and clearly explain recommendations and trade-offs
- Support modernisation, migration and transformation initiatives
- Work with developers and engineering teams to implement the agreed architecture
- Include performance, resilience, scalability and disaster-recovery considerations within designs

Priority Profile
- Hands-on enterprise Data Architect experience
- Strong enterprise and domain data-modelling fundamentals
- Domain-driven design and CQRS knowledge
- OLTP and transactional-system experience
- Conceptual, logical and physical modelling experience
- Strong stakeholder communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work across several teams and complex systems
- Good understanding of enterprise integration and data governance
- Experience moving from waterfall towards Agile and iterative delivery
- Oracle, PostgreSQL, Cassandra or YugabyteDB experience
- Awareness of how AI is changing architecture, governance and delivery
- Financial-services experience preferred

Based in London, Brighton or Burgess Hill - 3 days in office per week
