Position Description
At CGI, you’ll help clients modernise critical data landscapes through secure, controlled migration to the cloud. As a Senior Data Architect, you’ll shape migration strategy, define ETL approaches and ensure data quality, governance and resilience are built into every stage of delivery. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you’ll translate complex technical needs into practical solutions that deliver measurable outcomes. This is an opportunity to take ownership of meaningful work, contribute innovative thinking and be supported by experienced colleagues in a collaborative environment where your expertise helps create lasting impact.
CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.
Due to the secure nature of the programme and available timescales, you must already hold active UK Security Clearance (SC) to start on the project. This is a hybrid position.
Your future duties and responsibilities
In this role, you will play a key part in supporting the our client’s application and data migration programme by defining and developing the data migration strategy and ensuring the right standards, controls and tooling are in place ahead of production migration. You’ll work closely with the wider migration team to guide the secure movement of data and associated workloads from on-premises environments into Microsoft Azure, balancing technical quality with delivery practicality.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
