Senior Data Architect
Permanent | £90,000 + Benefits | Leeds (1 day per month onsite)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Data Architect to join a large-scale organisation undergoing a significant data transformation programme.
Reporting into senior technology leadership, you'll be responsible for shaping and delivering the enterprise data architecture strategy, ensuring data governance, quality, modelling, and standards are aligned to business objectives. You'll work across technology and business functions, providing architectural leadership on critical initiatives and helping unlock greater value from data across the organisation.
The Role
- Define and maintain enterprise data architecture standards, policies, and governance frameworks.
- Own logical and physical data models, metadata, data flows, and data lifecycle management.
- Lead architectural assurance across strategic projects and programmes.
- Drive best practice across data modelling, master data management, metadata management, integration, migration, and analytics.
- Assess emerging technologies and industry trends to help shape future data strategy.
- Provide expert guidance to technology and business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to maximise business value through effective use of data.
- Promote data architecture best practice through mentoring and thought leadership.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a Senior Data Architect or similar enterprise-level role.
- Strong expertise in data governance, data quality, metadata management, data integration, analytics, and data security.
- Advanced knowledge of conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
- Experience producing architecture artefacts including ERDs, data dictionaries, taxonomies, ontologies, and enterprise data models.
- Strong understanding of data management disciplines including master data management and metadata management.
- Experience working with relational databases, APIs, transactional systems, and analytical platforms.
- Ability to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- DAMA certification or equivalent would be advantageous.

What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience within Financial Services, Banking, Insurance, FinTech, or other highly regulated industries.
- Exposure to enterprise-scale data transformation programmes.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, compliance, and risk management requirements.
- DAMA certification, membership, or other recognised data management qualifications.
- Experience establishing or enhancing enterprise data governance frameworks.
- Proven track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving strategic data initiatives.
- Experience leading architectural assurance across complex, business-critical projects.
