Role: Data Engineering Lead/Architect

Location: London/ Amsterdam
Mode: Onsite (5 days)
Type: Contract

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect, design, and implement scalable data solutions using Databricks and cloud-native services.
  • Lead enterprise data migration programs from legacy platforms to modern cloud-based architectures.
  • Define and implement data governance, security, compliance, and data quality frameworks across the organization.
  • Establish best practices for data access controls, lineage, cataloging, auditing, and regulatory compliance.
  • Drive modernization initiatives involving data lakes, warehouses, and real-time analytics platforms.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, security teams, architects, and engineering teams to define strategic data roadmaps.
  • Mentor and guide data engineering teams on architecture, security, governance, and migration best practices.
  • Optimize performance, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency of data platforms.

Required Experience

  • 10+ years of overall experience in Data Engineering, Data Architecture, or Analytics Engineering.
  • Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience with Databricks.
  • Strong experience in Data Security and Governance implementations.
  • Extensive experience driving end-to-end Data Migration projects and modernization programs.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale data platforms and large data volumes.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capabilities.

  • Databricks Certified Professional/Data Engineer.
