Senior Data & BI Engineer | Berkshire
Location: Hybrid - Flexible one to two office days per month
Salary: £57,000–£67,000, depending on experience
Ref: J13180

An established financial services business is moving from SQL Server to a modern Azure Databricks platform. They’re looking for a Senior Data & BI Engineer who can help build it and turn the data into reporting that teams can trust.
This is a hands-on role across engineering and BI. You’ll develop production pipelines, model data in Delta Lake, build Power BI products and work with senior stakeholders to agree consistent KPIs across international markets.

What you’ll be doing:
- Building pipelines with Databricks, Python, PySpark and SQL
- Developing the Lakehouse using Delta Lake and Unity Catalog
- Creating dimensional models, semantic layers and advanced DAX measures
- Bringing consistency to KPIs across teams and countries
- Owning data products from requirements through to ongoing improvement
- Mentoring colleagues and helping set engineering standards
What they’re looking for:
- Production experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark and SQL
- Strong Power BI, DAX, semantic modelling and row-level security skills
- Experience modernising a legacy data platform
- Confidence working with senior Sales, Marketing or Operations stakeholders
- Experience mentoring others and building reusable standards
- Commercial analytics experience in performance marketing or contact centre operations
- Microsoft Fabric experience would be a bonus.
