Senior Data & BI Engineer - Berkshire

Location: Berkshire – hybrid, typically one to two office days per month
Salary: £57,000–£67,000, dependent on experience
Ref: J13180

Full right to work in the UK without requiring sponsorship now or in the future.

An established financial-services business is looking for a Senior Data & BI Engineer to help lead its transition from SQL Server to a modern data platform built around Azure Databricks, Python, and Power BI. This is a broad, hands-on role covering the full data lifecycle. You’ll build governed pipelines and data models, create trusted Power BI products, and work directly with senior stakeholders to define consistent KPIs across multiple international markets.

Responsibilities:

  • Build production pipelines using Databricks, Python, PySpark, and SQL
  • Develop Lakehouse architecture using Delta Lake and Unity Catalog
  • Create dimensional models, semantic layers, and advanced DAX measures
  • Define and rationalise KPIs across teams and countries
  • Own data products from initial requirements through to ongoing improvement
  • Mentor engineers and help raise technical standards across the team

Experience Required:

  • Strong production experience with Azure Databricks, PySpark, and SQL
  • Advanced Power BI, DAX, semantic-modelling, and row-level security experience
  • Experience modernising legacy data platforms
  • Confidence working directly with senior Sales, Marketing, or Operations stakeholders
  • Experience mentoring others and establishing reusable engineering standards
  • Commercial analytics experience within performance marketing or contact-centre operations
  • Microsoft Fabric experience would be beneficial.
