Senior Data Centre Solutions Architect | Pre Sales
UK | European Travel | Colocation
This is an opportunity to become a genuinely pivotal figure within a growing, PE backed European colocation provider. The role will ideally be based in London, however, you could be located anywhere in the UK.
Sitting at the nexus of the customer, Sales, Engineering, Construction and Operations, you will be the technical glue that brings complex opportunities together — taking a customer requirement, shaping the solution and ensuring what is being sold can ultimately be designed, built and operated.
It’s a highly visible role with real influence across the business, working on complex, high value customer opportunities from initial engagement through to deal execution and delivery handover.
And importantly, there is significant earning potential, with commission paid upon successful deal execution.
The role
Working directly with customers from the earliest stages of an opportunity, you’ll lead technical discovery, understand their infrastructure requirements and translate these into practical, commercially viable data centre solutions.
That could mean working with capacity within an existing operational facility, or helping shape a customer solution within a data hall or facility that is still being developed. You’ll work closely with Sales, but equally with Construction, Operations, Product and technical teams to establish feasibility, challenge assumptions and ensure that what is being proposed to the customer can genuinely be delivered.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What I’m looking for
Data centre experience is essential.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You’ll need a strong understanding of physical data centre infrastructure, with experience in data centre solution architecture, technical pre sales, engineering or a closely related customer solutions role.
Ideally, you’ll have worked within colocation, carrier neutral data centres or another highly relevant mission critical environment, with a strong understanding of how customer requirements translate into power, cooling, space, connectivity and ultimately a deliverable solution.
Just as importantly, you need to be highly credible and confident in front of customers. You should be equally comfortable discussing technical feasibility with Construction and Engineering as you are presenting a solution to a customer alongside Sales.
This role needs someone who understands the journey from customer requirement, through solution design and commercial agreement, into construction and delivery, and who thrives on being the person that brings all of those moving parts together.
