Senior Data Consultant / Data Architect
Outside IR35 | Fully Remote | Immediate Start
About the Role
Some data projects are about delivering reports. This isn't one of them.
We're working with a specialist consultancy supporting UK Higher Education clients through complex digital and data transformation programmes. They're looking for an experienced consultant who can provide technical leadership, shape data strategy and work alongside clients to make the right architectural decisions from day one.
You'll be brought in as a trusted advisor, helping universities define their future data and reporting architecture, improve data quality and guide large-scale migration programmes. Rather than simply delivering the technical work, you'll be the person asking the right questions, challenging approaches where needed and ensuring solutions are designed to last.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
