Role: Senior Data Engineer
Location: Reading - 1 day week
Salary: £100,000 + Bonus
I’m looking for a Senior Data Engineer to join a major digital transformation programme at a genuinely exciting stage of its journey.
This is an opportunity to join a growing data engineering capability with a huge amount still to build. You’ll be hands-on with the technology, help shape how the data platform develops and have real influence over engineering standards and technical decisions.
You’ll also be joining at a particularly exciting time as the team starts to embed AI and LLM technology into its data environment, giving you the opportunity to be at the forefront of how AI is used alongside modern data engineering.

What we’re looking for:
- Strong hands-on Databricks experience
- Excellent Python, PySpark and SQL
- Experience designing and building scalable data pipelines
- Strong understanding of modern Lakehouse/data platform architecture
- Experience with Delta Lake / Medallion architecture
- Comfortable owning technical decisions and mentoring other Data Engineers
- Strong stakeholder skills – able to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Experience within retail, e-commerce, CRM, customer or consumer digital environments would be highly desirable
- dbt experience is beneficial but not essential

💰 Up to £100,000 + bonus
